task 3: purpose of research - competitor analysis

Competitor analysis

what is a competitor analysis?

competitor analysis is how different companies producing the same or similar product compete with each other and still have success.

For example yahoo and google have the same service but they compete by bringing out new services for example google mail, yahoo mail - google have expanded their operations by bringing out their own mobile.

Good points:

- creates more variety for target audience
- keeps things updated
- creates more ideas and products

Bad points:

- one company can out do the other and one end up bankrupt etc
- can result in bad product outcomes due to pressure
